Good Morning Dear Readers:
I may as well just get it out there myself. You will find out sooner or later. I am just a mess. If it can be spilled, tripped over, broken, or lost–count on me to do it. It’s not that I am clumsy, although Heaven knows, I do take my share of tumbles. It’s just that my mind is someplace else while I am attempting what so many do so well–multi-tasking.
You can bet that disaster is just waiting whenever I attempt to do any two things at once. I just kid myself that I can bake cookies while doing the laundry and checking my e-mail. Last time I attempted such a feat, I burned the cookies, forgot to add detergent to the wash and spent the better part of 30 minutes on MSN celebrity watch trying to figure out what is really going on with Brad and Angelina.
Which is why it is no surprise that this morning as I was attempting to gather my paper recycling, while eating a piece of toast with peanut butter and honey on top, that the honey dribbled down into the sleeve of my robe and onto the floor. If nowhere else in this town, they do love me at the dry cleaners.
So there you have it, the ugly truth. If you ever invite me over for dinner and I offer to wash your good china, please, just say no.

Dish Disaster #1793
I received my Chico’s catalog yesterday in the mail and they have some gorgeous jewelry that features the hot, new layer look. They are really stunning and I am sure there are a lot of us who would love to find one of them under our Christmas tree!
I finished reading the December issue of Oprah Magazine at breakfast this morning (there’s probably honey in there somewhere now) and I encourage you to run to the store and pick up a copy.
It features Oprah and Ellen DeGeneres on the cover. There are some wonderful, helpful articles. My favorite is by Martha Beck who I do believe is one of the smartest women on the planet. She is a regular columnist and every month I am astounded by the great common sense and good information she has. (Page 81, The Art of Perfect Timing).
She delves into a book, How We Decide by Jonah Lehrer. It is about understanding your own internal, nonverbal brain and making the best decisions for yourself. It is also about preparing yourself to reach the goals you want–very powerful.
The issue is just packed with great gift ideas. The new sterling key necklaces from Tiffany & Company are featured, beginning at $325, chains $65 and up. I have seen them up close and personal and they are beautiful and come in all sizes for someone really special.
Movie watch: Up in the Air brings that gorgegous hunk George Clooney back on screen as a business consultant who flies around doing a thankless job–downsizing companies. From the director of Juno, it looks like a sweet comedy for the holidays. If you haven’t seen Juno, its in your video store and is offbeat, but precious and funny.
Have a delicious day!
Diane

For future reference.
The owner’s manual is in the trunk. Pull up the trunk rug, pull up on the trunk floor and the manual is right there, on top of the spare tire.
Oh, by the way, do you know where the spare tire is at?? The jack is in the little black plastic bag besides the spare. Oh, never mind, just call the nearest wrecker…….
